When you control anything, you gain security in the short term. However when the pay off is that less innovation and creativity occurs within your walls...in fact you create business competition outside your walls from people who believe they have a better way...think IBM, think Internet Explorer, think government and think people within your company!
If we stop and think what is innovation then..
When you create networking, you lose security but you gain innovation...because people can test and FAIL within your system, but with failure brings success....and that success is pushing the boundaries and doing things differently.
An organisation which understands the networking basics pay off.....less security but more innovation and creativity....realises this
less security brings more security over the long term profitability of your company
Because your competition to your existing services, your existing products is inside of your company
Humans are nervous, the need to feels secure is important but find that security in the long term goal of profitability.....
That is why yesterday I wrote about why social media works for small business - because often the lack of financial income creates the need to be innovative
