Marketing and truth have been uneasy bed fellows in the past but they can't afford to be in a world of always being open to business, of 24/7 access to the web.
The truth is a difficult concept for me as I don't believe there is one truth - but your truth seen through your eyes. Experience and knowledge can affect the way we view the world however that doesn't not mean that you should ever not be truthful.
Social marketing has to be truthful otherwise it will be found out. Social marketing is expressing through words and action the values you hold dear....
If you like Google acts as the truth monitor!
Because Google will throw up links to what people say about you after they have experienced your service and your product for themselves rather than through a marketing campaign. It is only purchase that shows to the individual if your words match your actions.
If you want 'Google the truth monitor' to treat you well then you have to be
- Consistent....to your words, your values and your presence.
- Transparent in your dealings - look how the google algorithm now destroys sites that buy links.
- Social....the making of truth comes through clicks and shares....if you are not being social, you are not creating content that can form that truth.
